Alaskan Yellow Cedar Hot Tubs – Tub Only!

Alaskan Yellow Cedar Hot Tubs3True Alaskan Yellow Cedar has been recognized as a unique wood species by the American Lumber Standards Committee.

Prized for its high strength, beautiful appearance and high natural decay resistance, Alaskan yellow cedar is classified as the strongest and most durable of all the cedars in the world.

Until recently, we haven’t been able to find a consistent source of quality Alaskan Yellow Cedar that meets our quality demands for our traditional wooden hot tubs. Our tubs are built with nothing but finest and thickest high quality woods and the demand far outweighs the supply for beautiful and durable cedar.

It’s been our good fortune to have recently partnered with a small family owned mill that specializes in Alaskan Yellow Cedar. They have agree to supply Roberts Hot Tubs with the absolute finest and most beautiful hand selected Alaskan Yellow Cedar to be used in our hot tubs.

The quality of this wood is unsurpassed and it’s totally clear with no knots, all heart wood from the center of the tree, is perfectly straight and tight grained.

Alaskan Yellow Cedar Hot Tubs4Our Alaskan Yellow Cedar tubs are constructed from full-sawn 2 x 6 clear, all heart, vertical grain wood. Both the staves and the bottom have a 1-3\4″ net finished thickness.

We pack and ship our tubs in a strategic “knocked down” fashion for easy shipping and easy installation.

Our tubs can be installed in just about any location by following the complete step by step installation guide, assembly instructions and the plumbing schematic that comes with all of our hot tubs.  The guide is totally comprehensive and the instructions make it easy for first-timers, intermediate or advanced DIY’s to install our hot tubs the proper manner.

The tubs are supported by 4 x 6 chine joists and held together by 1\2″ steel bands that are roll threaded at each end. They come with a cast iron coupler, two stainless steel nuts and a unique polyethylene sheathing which protects the band from rusting or gouging the wood.

Our hot tub benches are made from 2 x 12 clear, all heart, vertical grain Alaskan Yellow Cedar with a finished thickness of 1-1\2″ thick by 11-1\4″ wide.

Our “Full Circle” bench is comprised of 8 sections and is supported by 2′ x 4’s which are attached to the sides of the tub.

No part of the Full Circle Bench touches the floor, thereby allowing you, your legs and your feet complete, unobstructed freedom.

Less than “full circle” benches can be installed for those wishing to have both sitting and standing areas. Less than full circle benches come in variety of sizes and can be installed at various levels to allow for people of different heights. All of our benches come complete with stainless steel screws and hardware for fastening benches to the tub.

Based on the limited supply of quality wood, we limit the size of our Alaskan Yellow Cedar hot tubs. The maximum diameter we offer is 7′ and we limit the heights of the tubs to 3′ and 4′. We occasionally receive enough quality material to make 5′ tall tubs and you can call us or subscribe to our newsletter to check availability.
